THANKSGIVING, ITALIAN STYLE





When I received a request for a Thanksgiving dinner with an Italian twist from an American family, my excitement was through the roof!

In my menu proposals, I included a variety of options: vegetarian dishes, seafood, and meats, as well as homemade fresh pasta and a risotto with white truffles from Alba. All the menus and dishes were inspired by Italian festivities, where we bring to the table the most traditional recipes that demand attention and care right from the start.






he client’s choices for the appetizer included a selection of seasonal options: Mini Pizzas, Pumpkin Cream with Sautéed Mushrooms, and Braised Radicchio with Mountain Cheese. I prepared them in small, bite-sized portions, perfect for enjoying during a welcoming toast before the dinner began. Naturally, the details were themed around pumpkins!






For the first course, the choice was Artisanal Ziti with Veal and Onion Ragout—a traditional recipe from the Campania region. This is a comforting dish, perfect for family gatherings and festive occasions. As the main course, I served Boneless Stuffed Capon with Sauce and Potatoes, a traditional recipe from Northern Italy that my own family often prepares during Christmas. The sauce for the capon was reminiscent of the classic American gravy, adding a delightful fusion of flavors.





For dessert, my clients chose a Lemon Cream Tart, a typical dessert from Southern Italy, particularly from the Amalfi Coast. The sweet and tangy flavors of the tart provided a refreshing finish to the meal.



At the end of the dinner, I brought to the table a selection of Chocolate Truffles, made with rich dark chocolate and toasted hazelnuts from Piedmont, alongside Cream-filled Pastries. This was the perfect accompaniment to close the evening as the family enjoyed music and conversation by the fire.





It was truly exciting to be part of such a special occasion.

The guests were members of a beautiful family, which made the experience even more special. I couldn’t help but think about my own family, where every Christmas and special occasion becomes unique and delightful, thanks to exquisite food and attention to every detail.

I love being able to bring a bit of this Italian and familial spirit to accompany my dishes.


Sharing good food with loved ones can only make any occasion more special.
